When I originally went to college I expected to just earn my four year degree and move on to a consumer electronics company. Little did I know that the things I was passionate about---music, sound, and loudspeakers---were important fields of research at academic institutions. When I showed my undergraduate advisor some of the speakers I had built, he offered me a position in his laboratory, sparking my curiosity and enthusiasm for research.
